Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
We opened a seasonal HHW Depot to offer a more convenient way to dispose of bathroom cleaners, nail polish remover, paint, insecticides, chemical fertilizers, etc.
We will re-open in May 2024 and operate until the end of September.
Beginning in April 2024, call Mary O'Brien at 802-674-9235 for an appointment and directions to the Depot.
If you need to properly dispose of HHW when our Depot is closed (e.g., October through April) "The Rutland County Solid Waste District has a permanent hazardous waste collection facility that is generally open year-round. Visit their website or call 802-775-7209 for more information."
If you just have paint to recycle, and the cans are labeled and not leaking, you can bring them to your local participating retailer (we'll take the rest at our HHW Depot):
Bibens and Sherwin-Williams in Springfield
Aubuchon Hardware in Ludlow and Windsor
