Glass food and beverage containers can be recycled at your transfer station. They all require that you rinse the containers, recycle metal lids along with tin cans, and throw away plastic caps. Labels do not need to be removed.
Currently in our District, only the Springfield Transfer Station recycles window glass, china, crystal, ceramics, mirrors, and drinking glasses with food and beverage glass. However, Springfield does not accept Pyrex, light bulbs, headlights, or windshield glass; even in very small amounts, these items contaminate regular recycled glass.
(Another option...pretty, broken ceramics are used by crafters to create mosaics.)
