In 2000, the Black River Action Team was formed from the desire of some concerned citizens to take the protection of the Vermont Black River Wastershed into their own hands and make a difference. Some of the Team's projects have included:

As a way to reduce waste going to landfills and to raise funds creatively, the Black River Action Team recycles old cell phones and empty inkjet and laser cartridges. People with one or more of these items can either contact BRAT at
