The District is a member of the Association of Vermont Recyclers (AVR), which offers a diverse range of educational opportunities and technical assistance programs to schools and communities.  Through single and multi-series workshops, theater productions, and youth-led waste reduction projects, AVR provides interdisciplinary education that addresses the 3 Rs:  Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

Through the District's membership in AVR, schools in this district can avail themselves of free programs on recycling and composting.  AVR staff can also assist administrators, custodians, school nurses, teachers, and students in adopting environmentally-friendly waste management and product purchasing in their schools.  Areas of technical assistance include:  environmentally-preferable cleaning products, proper disposal of hazardous waste, waste stream analysis, school-wide recycling, and composting.
